CHÂTEAU DE LAMARQUE ~ VINTAGE 2014

CritiCS & journalist RATINGS - 2014

Picture

WINE ENTHUSIAST BY ROGER VOSS- 92-94 POINTS

"Barrel Sample. There is a good balance of fruit and dense tannins in this wine. It has medium concentration, with a solid, dry background. In the front, the fruit is rich yet fresh."
Chateau de Lamarque - Logo Matthew Jukes

Matthew Jukes - 16+ points

"Very impressive and dark and somewhat surprisingly tannic on the finish but the fruit is more than focussed enough to support it. A little one-dimensional, but there is good length and decent depth here, too. 16+"

Decanter magazine - 16,5 points - "TOP 10 HAUT-MEDOC"

"Finely expressed Cabernet fruit with ripe Merlot behind. Fine structure and length; very good in this vintage. Drink 2018-2028." TOP 10 HAUT- MEDOC - By Steven Spurrier
Picture

James Suckling - 91-92 points

"Big and juicy with chocolate, tar and berry character. Full and velvety."

Jancis Robinson - 16,5 points

Jancis Robinson - 16,5 points: "Very deep crimson. Lightly spicy nose with a hint of Bovril meat extract. Appetising and zesty with very much more bumptious fruit than tannins at first, although the tannins are certainly lurking there. Good stuff! Mulberries. Just a little soft.  -Drink 2019-2028"

Wine Chronicle by panos kakaviatos -89-91+points

"This estate is among the most gorgeous in Bordeaux, a medieval castle! And the sample in 2014 ain’t bad at all. Black fruit aromatics. Blackberry and plum. Brisk attack. High tannin first, then highish acidity, with medium plus alcohol. The mid palate is somewhat broad and “unfocused” but the finish is taut and drives things through. Barrel aging will bring good things for you. Tasted non blind at Vintex with similar reaction. 89-91+"
